BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — The Idaho Youth Ranch (IYR) has filed a complaint and against its insurers, Alliance Member Services, Inc. and Swiss Re Corporation Solutions Elite Insurance Corporation, and demands a trial.
According to court documents, IYR suffered over $10.7 million in covered losses from a warehouse on July 18, 2022. IYR claims the Insurer refuses to pay the compensation required under the policy it sold to IYR.
"The Insurer has specifically failed to pay the costs of remediating IYR's damaged property, rebuilding a collapsed building destroyed by the fire, and replacing IYR's lost business personal property," court documents say. "In addition, the Insurer has unreasonably denied coverage under the Policy's business income provision for lost revenue at IYR's thrift stores throughout Idaho."
Additionally, the documents say the Insurer has engaged in a litany of bad-faith conduct that has delayed IYR's resolution claim.
